About This is Zion
Zion National Park is one of my favourite places in the US. I have been here countless times, and every season displays a different kind of beauty.
This image was capture in November, in late fall. I was traveling around the region, and I was closely monitoring the state of foliage in Zion National Park. I kept calling the park rangers, asking them for an update. There is a small window of opportunity, when foliage is at its pretties during fall. “Plentiful and colorfull” is the key mission. It can disappear within a few days.
I finally decided to make the detour to Zion National Park. Upon arriving, I was at first disappointed. The amount of foliage was definitely not at its peak. The last few days had been windy and a lot of it had already fallen down. Nevertheless, I captured this photograph, deep in the canyon. And I was extremely pleased with the result. Some of the trees had already lost its gorgeous yellow foliage. Others were full of it. This added a nice contrast to the image.
