South Coast, Sri Lanka.

I snapped this gorgeous view on Sri Lanka’s south coast. I had been driving along this coastal paradise the entire day. The beaches were to die for.

I setup my camera a couple of meters from the crashing waves, which were slowly creeping up on me from behind. It wasn’t easy to capture the entire scene into one frame, even with a wide-angle lens. I was struggling to get my framing right, while ensuring the waves behind me wouldn’t destabilize my tripod.

Minutes after sunset the sky took on a soft and peaceful color. I pressed the shutter and I knew I got it right the first time. I was mesmerized by this simple and peaceful beauty. I put my camera away and stood there till absolute darkness covered the scene
