Death Valley, California, USA.

I took this abstract image in Death Valley National Park in California. Sand dunes can take on many shapes, and their lines in the sand can tell stories. The challenge however, is to find those lines, is to find those stories. Usually they are somehow interrupted by other forces of nature. Animal footprints, small bushes, gushes of wind, etc… And it just ruins the composition.

I found this beautiful dune during a long early morning hike. It was gigantic, towering high above me. I setup my camera at the base of this dune and took several close up images. I loved this vertical panoramic frame. It kind of tells the story of a journey into the unknown.
