Otway Ranges, Victoria, Australia.

The Otway Ranges in Australia are a natural oasis. Green gullies, tall ancient trees, massive ferns, and countless streams and waterfalls. When living in Melbourne I spent a lot of time photographing the Otway Ranges. It always brought me back in time, giving me a sense of tranquillity. Away from the hustle and bustle.

I photographed countless images of the forest and its beauty, but I also tried to focus on capturing the more intimate details of this place. This photograph is taken at Erskine Falls, and by focusing on this small section of the waterfall, I hoped to capture a mystical feel. Whenever seeing this image I see something different. And when asking viewers what they see in this photograph, I get a wide range of answers. Great! That’s exactly what I aimed to achieve.
