About London Bridge

Victoria, Australia.

The Great Ocean road has countless limestone formations and striking viewpoints. When I was living in Melbourne I would drive along this impressive coastal road almost every weekend. There is simply so much to discover. And my camera was always with me, ready to capture that unique photograph.

This is London Bridge in Victoria. Pre 1990, this was a double-spanning bridge connected to the mainland. In 1990 the span closest to the shoreline collapsed unexpectedly. Now it is a distinctive feature along the Great Ocean Road.

This photograph was captured at about 30 minutes after sunset. … A final streak of orange light paints the horizon. Slowly but steadily disappearing. Soon it will be completely dark, and we are left with only the sound of crashing waves…
