I photographed this impressive gum tree near Mount Buller National Park in Victoria.

I had spent the day hiking through waist-deep snow, trying to photograph snow gums. A very exhausting day. On my way back, once I left the snowed in area I stopped my vehicle near this river so I could get rid of my snow outfit and get into something more comfortable. I noticed this very attractive composition. Lighting was perfect.

It turned out to be the best shot that I took that day. Kind of ironic after having walked many miles with a heavy pack on my back looking for that special shot.
