Dettifoss, Iceland.

Dettifoss is considered to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Measuring 100 meters (330 ft) wide and 45 meters (150 ft) high, it is a never-ending, thundering avalanche of water. It is hardly possible to photograph it from nearby due to the constant water droplets that will end up on your camera lens. For this image, I decided to try and capture the magnificence of the canyon, with the falls in the background. The sky in the background turned out pretty dramatic too. All up, this photograph truly displays the immense forces of nature and time. Whenever I see this image, I am in awe of what Mother Nature has managed to create. It demands a deep respect for nature, and I hope that this image somehow creates a realization of how insignificant we are in the shadow of nature. And more importantly, of how lost we would be without nature.
