Big Island, Hawaii

Akaka Falls on Hawaii’s Big Island. It is a spectacular 129 meters (422 feet) tall waterfall. I was hoping for rain and heavy clouds… well… I got them. Now the challenge was to nail a shot without raindrops on my camera lens. The clouds in the gorge below were dancing a tango. Whenever the rain stopped, the clouds would vanish. Whenever the clouds re-appeared, rain would be pouring down and I just couldn’t seem to capture a decent image. Landscape photography can be a frustrating affair. Many attempts later I was in luck! I was pressing the shutter as if my life depended on it. Got the shot!
