These magnificent falls are located on New Zealand’s South Island, in Mount Aspiring National Park.

I photographed these falls in broad daylight, on a sunny day. Something I usually do not do when photographing waterfalls. However, it worked well for this shot. It is as if lightning struck from the sky.

The bright blue glacial water flowing through the river was out of this world. I saw different shades of blue, creating a never-ending dance. And I remember the sound it made. It looked so peaceful, so pure and clean. New Zealand is a place where civilization’s impact hasn’t reached yet. I hope it never will…
