About Lake Wakatipu

New Zealand, South Island.

Lake Wakatipu is an inland lake on New Zealand’s South Island. It has a length of 80 kilometers, making it New Zealand’s longest lake. At 291 km², it is New Zealand’s third largest lake. Being at an altitude of 310 meters, the lake is very deep. Its floor is as low as 100 meters below sea level. Lake Wakatipu is renowned for its scenic beauty, being surrounded by snowcapped mountains.

I took this fairly simple image of the lake. But the overwhelming “blue” hue makes it a winner.
