The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is a Buddhist temple in the heart of Singapore’s Chinatown.  It has a rousing architectural design. 

I wanted to focus on capturing several abstract images of this beautiful building.  I spent a couple of evenings there, playing with different compositions.  I had decided to capture the moving red colors of the temple, against a soft blue evening sky.  The timeslot to do so lasts for only 20 minutes.  So, I had to return for several evenings to get the results I wanted. 

I took over 250 images, and ended up handpicking three as the very best ones.  This was probably the bravest and boldest composition out of the three.  It is more confronting.  It draws the viewer right into the frame, whether you want to or not.

“Rooftop to Heaven” is part of a collection of three images.  Together with “Window to Heaven” and “Staircase to Heaven”, it is a striking collection of abstracts of the Buddha Tooth Relic temple, that will attract most viewers attention when seeing them enlarged at home or in an office building.
